In the recent rare occurrence, Capcom made fans all over the world happy when it announced that "Resident Evil 2" would be receiving a remake in the streak of the highly acclaimed "Resident Evil Remake" on the Gamecube. However, it should be considered that the developer company could take the best possible thing and transform it into something terrible, based on what happened with "Street Fighter x Tekken."

However, if the game producer's word should be believed, "Resident Evil 2 Remake" will probably not disappoint. Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi is certain that the developer will recapture the experience of the original game.

The game producer said via VideoGamer, "Yes, I'm confident we can [recapture the feeling of the original]; [my] team at Capcom is working hard on the game at the moment and there are some reasons why I think we can recapture the spirit of the first game."

The producer said that as it was aforementioned, the first game's remake is set to prove that a remaster can recapture the original game. As a result, the RE GameCube remake became his first project at Capcom. Hirabayashi learnt from more experienced colleagues and saw with his own eyes how these people translated their efforts into such a masterpiece that built on an earlier well-received game.

Besides being an incredibly valuable experience, the game producer said that "Resident Evil 2" was the first game in the franchise that he played.

Hirabayashi added, "Everyone's experience is different but I remember how it felt to play it for the first time, and the task of bringing that to the fans all over again is a cause of daily headaches for me (laughs). Work is progressing on the game and all I can do is asking the fans to wait patiently and excited."

Since Hirabayashi worked on the GameCube remake of the original game, it is rational to hope for the upcoming remake, according to GamingBolt. The producer as well confirmed that the feedback from the much-maligned "Resident Evil 6" would also be considered.

Fans can only hope that the upcoming remake lives up to its promise. However, "Resident Evil 2 Remake" does not yet have an official release date, or the targeted platforms for the release. Watch the clip below for more information.
