"Girl Meets World" season 3 was recently renewed by Disney Channel, and the writers of the show revealed that the upcoming episodes will focus more on feelings.

On March 13, it was posted on the show's official Twitter account, "And that's our season of growth. Next: A season of feelings, how they affect us, how we learn to control them, or not. Thanks for watching."

Based on the tweet last month, fans started speculating that the triangle between Riley (Rowan Blanchard), Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) and Lucas (Peyton Meyer) will finally be addressed.

Although the series creator already said that there's no such thing as a love triangle between the three young characters, it is common knowledge that both Riley and Maya have a crush on Lucas.

While speaking with The Wrap, series creator Michael Jacobs said that the triangle will be resolved throughout the entire duration of season 3.

"It will span probably a third to a half of season 3. Not as primary focus, but always as an underlying thing in existence for the characters. And then when we bring it up to primary, we will resolve it in a way that shows an answer to a much bigger question, which is, how do young people at this age perceive relationships?" he said.

Jacobs continued, "What is the value of them? And what are our friendships, really? If the audience perceives that what we're talking about is 14-year-olds in love, they have missed what we're doing entirely. All of this will explain itself as part of the season."

Meanwhile, according to Parent Herald, it's highly possible that Riley and Maya will choose their friendship over Lucas. After all, true friendships are very difficult to find these days.

If this storyline will be explored, it's possible that either Maya or Riley will be the first one to say that she's no longer interested in dating Lucas. Whoever the latter will choose will most likely decide to do the exact same thing.

"Girl Meets World" season 3 will premiere on Disney Channel this spring.
