Rumors abound that in "House of Cards" season 5, Frank Underwood may rise from the ashes and win the Presidential election.

Underwood has been shown to be in a weak position, both physically and politically in season 4 of the show. However, based on his past antics, he may still pull a rabbit out of the hat and defeat his rivals.

The next season is expected to be released in March 2017. Even though it is renewed for another season, it is rumoured that it will be the last season of this show. The current season received mixed reviews from the viewers, according to Independent. While some of the episodes were full of drama and heated arguments, other lacked speed and enthusiasm.

Beau Willimon, who was the showrunner of this show, quit his job after season 4. He cited the reason to be finding other opportunities in this field. This may be a reason that Netflix is yet to decide, if they want another season of "House of Cards" after season 5 or not. On the other hand, Kevin Spacey confirmed that Melissa James Gibson and Frank Pugliese will be the new showrunners for this show.

Another fact which solidifies this rumour is that the story of the show, which is based on Michael Hobbs novel, has already touched all the arcs of the plot. If the showrunners want the story to extend, they will need to invent their own fiction and showcase it through this political drama series.

Also, Netflix is known to announce all the possible season of its original series at once, as it did the same thing with "Orange is the New Black." Now they are not announcing any more season for "House of Cards" other than season 5. This may either mean that they are yet to take a final decision on this, or this may actually be the end of the series.

The spoilers for the next season might include things like Doug Stamper possibly killing LeAnn Harvey, who is being called the "female Stamper," according to GQ magazine. He may be forced to kill her in a fit of rage, as she tries to overpower every decision which Stampner takes.
