"Resident Evil 7" is Capcom's next big project, and fans have been clamoring to have the game released with a horror-based gameplay similar to what happened in the first "Resident Evil" trilogy. Series producer Masachika Kawata introduced the upcoming installment during the Sony Computer Entertainment press conference in Tokyo last year.

There have been widespread complaints that the past two installments had no horror story. The game developer company has been listening to fans' concerns and they have promised to offer much suspense in the upcoming game, although fans should not raise hopes just yet, according to NSEAVoice. They should wait for Capcom to release one tease that can prove that horror is actually returning to the series through the next installment or make an official statement concerning the horror story.

Analysts expect that the game developer will find a very creative and fascinating way to return dead names from the previous titles to "Resident Evil 7." Some of the big names rumored to return include William Birkins and Nemesis. The two villains gave fans quite the fright in the past and they will make the perfect secret boss fight in the next installment.

Returning Birkins and Nemesis in "Resident Evil 7" will certainly strengthen the game's horror story. Still, there is no official confirmation from Capcom on whether the two characters will return to "Resident Evil 7."

A report from Siliconera shared some of the answers of game producer Kawata during a Q&A forum for the 600th Dengeki PlayStation issue. Concerning "Resident Evil 7," the producer pointed out that the company is "currently not at the state to talk about it" but added, please stay tuned."

The producer was as well asked about people's perspective on the series losing its horror touch, whereby he responded, "Since there's been more spinoff titles, I can see how it can be perceived in such a way. And of course I believe that we should produce titles that bring out the horror. I'm thinking about it and also preparing for it."
