Jones went on a rigorous physical, mental and spiritual training to prepare for the role, Entertainment Weekly reported. His program includes lifting weights, hours of Kung-Fu and Wushu practice with a bit of Tai Chi, meditation and Buddhist philosophy studies.

For the uninitiated, "Iron Fist" tells the story of Danny Rand, an orphaned child who lost his parents in a tragic accident in China that left him as the sole survivor. He was eventually adopted by the people of K'un-Lun, a magical lost city inhabited by warrior monks that trained him to be the wielder of a mystical force known as "Iron Fist" that allows him to summon and focus his "Chi" on his fists.

Based on the leaked photos, the series is likely set at a time where Rand returns to New York City to find the people responsible for the death of his parents. "Marvel's Iron Fist" will be directed by Scott Buck who is known for his work on "Dexter" and "Six Feet Under."

Meanwhile, "90210" alum Jessica Stroup and "Banshee" actor Tom Pelphrey have been cast as regulars for the upcoming series, Variety reported. Both actors will play Joy and Ward Meachum respectively.

Joy and Ward Meachum are the children of Harod Meachum, a former business partner of Danny Rand's father Wendell Rand. Other casting announcements are set to be made and fans speculate that characters from other Marvel-Netflix series such as "Jessica Jones" might find themselves appear in "Iron Fist."

"Iron Fist" will be part of "The Defenders" series that includes "Jessica Jones," "Luke Cage," and "Daredevil." Release date for the upcoming series is yet to be made so stay tuned.
