"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 recently saw Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) and Callie (Sara Ramirez) fighting over the custody of their only daughter Sophia.
Since Callie already agreed to go to New York City with her girlfriend Penny (Samantha Sloyan), she has also thought of bringing Sophia along with them.
Callie believes that sending Sophia to a school in New York City will actually be better for her. However, her ex-wife Arizona believes otherwise.
Since Arizona is living in Seattle, she wants her daughter to stay there with her. Also, since it's the middle of the school year, Arizona is worried that Sophia will have a hard time adjusting in her new school.
The two female characters spoke about their issues, but weren't able to have an agreement. As a result, Arizona already informed Callie that she can only course her questions through the former's lawyer.
Callie didn't feel threatened by Arizona. Instead she said that she's ready to fight for her daughter's custody.
Meanwhile, fans of the show have been asked to take sides between Arizona or Callie and they have finally spoken up.
On TV Line's website, some fans believe that Sophia should stay with Arizona in Seattle because this has been her home for the past couple of years.
Other fans believe that Arizona should be open to the idea of sending Sophia to school in New York City because opportunities could be better for her there.
One fan @HQ wrote, I actually like Callie AND Arizona but this shouldn't be about them. The question for both of them should be what is best for Sophia. Callie is being selfish and only thinking about what she wants, not what Sophia needs therefor I have to side with Arizona."
Some fans also expressed their excitement over the storyline saying that what makes it interesting is the fact that both Arizona and Callie have equal rights to their daughter because Arizona legally adopted Sophia when she was just a baby. Callie, of course, was the one who carried the child in her womb.
