The Mortal Instruments novel-based television series, "Shadowhunters," is said to comeback with a season that is quite similar to the plot of Cassandra Clare's second novel in The Mortal instrument book series, "City of Ashes."
There are reports that "Shadowhunters" Season 2 will still cover parts of the book "City of Ashes." A good example is that, the second installment of the Freeform TV show may focus on Luke's werewolf pack. Another interesting story arc would be the trip to Seelie Court, which was featured on the second book.
Reports also claim the possibility that "Shadowhunters" Season 2 may get some story arcs from the third book of the Mortal Instruments novel, which is titled the "City of Glass."
On the other note, Freeform has not yet confirmed the release date of the second season, but this should not be an issue because the first season of the "Shadowhunters" has just ended recently.
Moreover, Dominic Sherwood, who plays the character of Jace Wayland in the series, shared his point of view regarding the release date of "Shadowhunters" Season 2. The actor said in his interview with TV Line that season 2 may not be available anytime soon. The "Vampire Academy" actor also confirmed in the same interview that he has no idea relating to the plot or storylines of the much anticipated "Shadowhunters" Season 2.
Now that one of the main characters of the series confirmed that "Shadowhunters" Season 2 may not be out anytime soon, this should mean that fans will have to wait longer than they have expected.
Although there have been no confirmation from the network, executive producers or from the other casts, fans could still not help but to continue speculating what the second installment might contain. Perhaps, some of the speculations gave by the avid followers of the television series might have a chance to come to reality. For instance, the rumor that Season 2 would still be inspired by the "City of Ashes" has a probability to be considered by the showrunners of "Shadowhunters."
