A new report revealed that “Vikings” season 4 episode 11 will most likely premiere this July, after “Game of Thrones” season 6 aired its last episode. History channel has also already went ahead and renewed “Vikings” for a fifth season.

While there is still no official premiere date for "Vikings" season 4 episode 11, Den of Geek speculated that viewers will only have to wait a couple of months till the second half premieres. The outlet predicted that the fall premiere will happen the first Thursday after "Game of Thrones" airs its season 6 finale.

The History channel is clearly capitalizing on the growing interest for the "Vikings" series. The network has doubled its request for episodes for season 4, from the usual ten to 16 and now 20 episodes. As previously reported, History has also renewed "Vikings" for a fifth season.

This did not come as a surprise given that the mid-season finale drew in a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which is definitely not far behind NBC's "Game of Silence," ABC's "The Catch" and CBS' "Rush Hour."

In an interview with TV Guide, "Vikings" creator Michael Hirst shared that fans can definitely expect more action packed episodes when season 4 returns. Contrary, however, to earlier speculations, the showrunner revealed that they had no intentions of killing Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) on the show. He joked that a "feminist collective in New York" told him that they could not care less how many of the male characters he killed on the show as long as he spared Lagertha.

Hirst explained that Lagertha is the "soul" of the show, adding that Winnick's character is far too important and they would not dream of killing her off just yet.

"She's also gone on this amazing female journey in which she's gone from farmer's wife [who's] happily married with kids, to being betrayed, to being in an abusive relationship, to having power, to having power taken away from her by men, to having to fight her way back, to having to lose her baby again," he explained.
