Despite the minor problems that happened during “Descendants of the Sun” actor Song Joong-ki’s fan meet on Saturday, May 7, the event was a huge success.

Around 4,000 fans attended the three-hour event held at Thunder Dome in Bangkok, kicking the 30-year-old actor’s Asian Tour. Besides the various activities and games, Song Joong-ki allowed the fans to know him better. Toward the end of the event, he took the time to shake hands and pose for photos with fans to show his gratitude to them.

Clips on YouTube of the fan meet show the actor making the predominantly female audience shout their lungs out when he called a female fan and covered her eyes with his hand while she was reading, and the actor play Prince Charming by asking another female fan to try on an ankle-high boots on her left foot.

One bespectacled female fan was lucky enough to have the actor tie her shoulder-length hair while Song Joong-ki was almost embracing her and their faces close.

SBS reported that Song Joong-ki will donate all the proceeds of the fan meet, although it did not specify to which charities.

Given the success of the event and the warm reception of the fans to the actor, Song Joong-ki can add the title “The Most Beloved Korean Star in (Thai) History,” in addition to being the most popular actor in China and South Korea, according to Yonhapnews.

From Thailand, the actor will be in Beijing on May 14, Wuhan on May 21, Guangzhou on May 27, Shenzhen on May 28, Shanghai on Jun3 5, Hong Kong on June 11, Chengdu on June 17 and Taipei on June 25. Those eight Chinese cities are the only ones that Blossom Entertainment, the actor’s talent agency, has confirmed. However, fans from other Asian countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Myanmar are also asking that the actor include their nations in his Asian tour.
