Hyun Bin, who first gained widespread fame with "My Name is Kim Sam Soon" as Hyun Jin Heon in 2005, shows off some manly facial hair on the set of his new commercial film. The actor is currently undergoing an image change for his key role in the upcoming movie "Cooperation."
The news came to light when Vast Entertainment revealed some still cuts of the actor in the midst of a CF shoot on March 28. In the photos, the 33-year-old star shows off a new manly look with a slimmer body and a full beard.
"Currently, Hyun Bin is concentrating on filming. He looks skinny due to weight loss for a role, but he still manages to look good," Vast Entertainment said in a statement obtained by All K-pop.
Hyun is currently busy filming "Cooperation" (working title), an action-thriller film about North and South Korea's first-ever joint undercover investigation in history. The star has been cast to play Im Chul Ryung, a North Korean detective in the hidden organization.
The film will be Hyun's first film in two years and his second film since completing his two-year mandatory military service in the Marine Corps in Dec. 6, 2012. In 2014, Hyun played the leading role of King Jeongjo in the period drama called "The Fatal Encounter."
Filmmaker Kim Sung Hoon is on board to direct with a script penned by screenwriter Kim Sung Hoon and is set to be produced by Yoon Je Kyun. The production company, JK Film, has reportedly been working on the said film for the past four years, causing the anticipation of the fans to grow even higher.
The film recently began filming on March 10 with a total budget of 10 billion won (approximately $10.8 million), Soompi reported. The upcoming film also stars Yu Hae Jin as Kang Jin Tae, Kim Ju Hyeok as Cha Ki Sung, Jang Young Nam as So Yeon, Lee Hae Young as Detective Squad Chief Pyo, Lee Dong Hwi as Park Myung Ho and Girls' Generation member Im Yoona as Park Min Young.
The film is scheduled to be released in theaters across South Korea in early 2017. Check out the video below:
