Lowly teams Watford FC (12-17-8, 44 points) and Sunderland AFC (9-17-11, 38 points) are going in opposite directions in the last few matchdays of the 2015-2016 Premier League season. They clash with each other this Sunday, May 15th at the Vicarage Road for their season finale.

Watford has dropped to the 13th spot of the league table after losing three of their last four games. The team is currently on a two-game losing slide but are still safe from demotion back to the Championship next season as they are 10 points above the bottom three relegation area.

The Hornets were tripped by fellow newly-promoted side Norwich City FC, 2-4, at the Carrow Road on Wednesday, as reported by SkySports.

Striker Troy Deeney was able to score the first goal of the match at the 11th minute for head coach Quique Sánchez Flores' side but Canaries midfielder Nathan Redmond was quick to equalize it four minutes later as he squeezed past a shot through Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.

The hosts then grabbed the lead at the 18th as striker Dieumerci Mbokani tapped in the first of his two goals off a rebound from another Redmond shot. An own goal by Hornets defender Craig Cathcart at the 37th gave Norwich a commanding 3-1 lead at the break.

Deeney's scoring partner, Odion Ighalo, cut the lead to one with a goal at the 51st, but Mbokani's second goal of the match sealed the game at the 57th for the relegated team.

Meanwhile, Sunderland escaped demotion as they crushed middling team Everton FC, 3-0, at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday, via BBC Sport.

Ivorian defender Lamine Koné netted a brace in the match, at the 42nd and 55th minutes, to lead the Black Cats to their second straight win and fifth consecutive unbeaten effort as they climbed out of the bottom three relegation zone.

Dutch left back Patrick van Aanholt scored the opening goal at the 38th to complete Sunderland's three goal-haul.

The predicted result is a 1-0 victory for Sunderland.
