"X-Men: Days Of Future Past" actress Jennifer Lawrence posed naked lying on her belly with a snake slithering across her back in a photo snapped by the French photographer Patrick Demarchelier for Vanity Fair.
The entire treat was taken in one of the private Hollywood residences in July 2014 and will be featured in the magazine's March 2015 issue.
According to the publication, a long metal rod that had a hook at its end was the only thing that came in between the "Silver Lining" star and the serpent during the shoot. The whole concept is to pay homage to the Richard Avedon portrait of Nastassja Kinski for Vogue in 1981.
Vanity Fair fashion director Jessica Diehl said "Jennifer has the perfect combination of humor, sexuality, strength, and most of all tomboy to pull this off."
The magazine further said that Lawrence showed discomfort only once during the entire shoot and this was when the snake took advantage of her neck. Immediately, the shoot was packed-up and the boa was locked back to its box.
Meanwhile, Chris Pratt is in talks about joining the "Hunger Games" star for Sony's upcoming drama "Passengers," the Variety reported. Morten Tyldum of "The Imitation Game" is said to direct the film. This sci-fi treat revolves around a love story set on a journeying spaceship. All of the ship's passengers are put into a cryogenic sleep, except for the leads who have managed to wake up during the trip.
Vanity Fair's Hollywood issue this year will also feature British stars David Oyelowo, Felicity Jones, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Eddie Redmayne.
