It was only a couple of days ago when the drama-thriller television series, "Bates Motel," concluded its fourth season with an explosive season finale. The finale episode killed off one of its main characters, Norma Bates, played by Vera Farmiga, yet rumors indicate that fans may still see the actress reprising her role in the next installment of "Bates Motel."
It can be recalled that the season finale of "Bates Motel" Season 4 showed how devastated Norman is, finding out that it was only his mother who was killed. He even denies that his mother is already dead. It was also seen in the season finale that Norman dug up the grave of his mother, and brought his mother back home because Norman believes that his mother is not dead, Variety reported.
In his interview with TVLine, the showrunner of "Bates Motel," Carlton Cuse, said that Farmiga will not leave "Bates Motel" Season 5, although her character died in the recent conclusion of the show's fourth season. The executive producer added that the role of Farmiga will only be adjusted for it to fit on "Bates Motel" Season 5.
Cuse also exposed that Farmiga's character will constantly be in the head of his son that will lead into Norman's psychotic problem, which fans saw in its movie version, "Psycho."
Meanwhile, the death of Farmiga's character has long been planned, but Cuse did also admit that even if everyone knew that the death scene would come, they were still shocked on how emotional it got. The showrunner even said that he did cry on an airplane bound to Vancouver while watching it, and added that the death scene was hard emotionally.
On the other hand, reports are leading to details that "Bates Motel" Season 5 may be the final season of the hit series. The showrunners of the series was reported to have said that the show was initially planned to have five seasons only.
"Bates Motel" Season 5 has no official release date, but more details will surface about the upcoming season in the coming weeks.
