With the filming of “Teen Wolf” Season 6 in the works, multiple rumors about the addition of new cast members have circulated online. One of the most popular is One Direction member Harry Styles allegedly replacing Dylan O’Brien in the hit MTV series following the latter’s accident on the set of “The Maze Runner: The Death Cure.”
While rumors of Styles replacing O'Brien may be far-fetched, Directioners were clearly happy with the singer coming on board for "Teen Wolf" Season 6. Showrunner Jeff Davis told Creative123, they are actually in talks with Styles' camp to make it happen.
Davis, however, encouraged both One Direction and "Teen Wolf" fans that they should not get their hopes up as nothing is confirmed as of the moment. He added that if everything goes well, they will be thrilled to have Styles on the show.
"No, they're not 100% fake. We do want Harry Styles in our show. Like a new British boy. But we're still in talks with people, directors, agents. So we can't confirm anything yet."
Although Davis confirmed that they are entertaining the possibility of bringing in Styles for "Teen Wolf" Season 6, he explained that this does not mean that he will be replacing O'Brien. Following the latter's injury while shooting his latest film, multiple reports predicted that it was only a matter of time before we say goodbye to Stiles Stilinski.
In the interview, Davis insisted that O'Brien's character will not be killed off in "Teen Wolf" Season 6. As the filming has already begun, the producer held that they were hoping that O'Brien can eventually shoot a few scenes while being inured. Davis added that O'Brien is more than happy to be back, its just his condition that is holding him back.
"No, we aren't replacing Stiles. Dylan O'Brien will be back to film soon... He wants to film, he's in perfect condition. But he's just not doing fine enough to do any stunts."
