Samsung will reveal several new products including the OLED foldable display at the Display Week 2016 organized by the Society for Information Display, which is an organization that promotes the display industry, according to Korea Herald. The event will take place this week in San Francisco.

According to the publication, some of the products to be revealed will be an indicator for the kind of technology that Samsung will choose for the next Galaxy smartphones and other digital devices in future. The tech giant will reportedly unveil a 5.7-inch AMOLED screen that boasts a 2560 by 1440 resolution.

The imminent AMOLED screen weighs 5 grams and has a depth of 0.3 millimeter, in addition to a radius curvature of 10. This implies that the new display technology from Samsung can be rolled into a circle with a radius of 10 millimeters.

The screen is perceived the "future display technology" since it can also be used for tablet PCs and TVs. An industry insider familiar with the company's plans on foldable smartphones said that Samsung has made considerable progress in the technology.

Speaking via English.et News, the source said, "Although mass-production cannot be concluded hastily since Samsung Electronics still has few other major tasks to complete, I've heard that Samsung Electronics had made a considerable amount of results in the time being."

Meanwhile, Samsung will also launch its AMOLED display panels measuring 13.3 inches and 14 inches for laptops. Although these displays will not be foldable, they will be extra thin to help reduce the weight and size of laptops.

Furthermore, Samsung is building a hologram technology that is said to project three-dimensional images, a transparent screen, and a flexible display that works like a mirror. The technology is expected to serve an array of purposes like viewing pop-up books and playing 3D games.
