The Duggar family, especially Jill Dillard and Jessa Seewald, are reportedly encouraging their fans to campaign for a “Jill & Jessa: Counting On” Season 2. While the new reality series enjoyed quite a high rating, TLC has yet to announce if the series will be renewed. As big brands pulled away their ads from the show following Josh Duggar’s scandals, multiple insiders believe that the show will be cancelled after only one season.
According to Examiner, loyal supporters of the Duggar family and fans of "Jill & Jessa: Counting On," took to Twitter to campaign for the show's renewal. Using the hashtag, #BringtheDuggarsBack, they are reportedly hoping that the network will notice them soon enough and renew the show. With strong support from fans, Jill and Jessa believe that TLC will eventually give in and give the show another chance.
"[The Duggars] have asked that they flock to the social media sites they are familiar with and offer positive feedback to the public and directly to the TLC network just how they feel about having the show renewed for a second season."
While some called for TLC to renew "Jill & Jessa: Counting On," calling the family "inspiring" adding that they wanted to see more of the Duggars next season, others insisted that it was about time that they get cut off the air for good. They pointed out that renewing the show will, in a way, condone Josh's past behavior. Some, on the other hand, wanted to bring back "19 Kids and Counting" without Josh this time around.
TLC insisted that they had no plans of bringing Josh back on the reality series. The Hollywood Gossip, however, recently predicted that it was only a matter of time before viewers see Josh again. It was speculated that his recent sightings was meant to gauge the public's reaction. While he did not appear on "Jill & Jessa: Counting On," his marriage with Anna was clearly one of the main storylines of the show.
The outlet held that the public had mixed reactions of Josh returning to the show. While some insisted that it will be unforgivable for TLC to feature him after the scandal, others saw a "story of redemption in the making."
"Imagine if ol' Josh were prominently featured trying to beg, pray, and work around the clock to make things right with her in Season 2," the outlet held.
