Lilly Wachowski has taken some time off directing "Sense8" Season 2, leaving her sister Lana as the sole director of the Netflix series. This is the first time in their careers that only one-half of the sibling duo will be directing a project.

"Lilly needed to take some time off," said "Sense8" star Jamie Clayton, who plays Nomi in the series, as quoted by Vulture. However, she will remain active as the show's co-creator.

Clayton has high hopes for "Sense8" Season 2 under Lana's leadership. "Lana is absolutely a superwoman," shared Clayton. "The way she channels her energy and her creativity ... it keeps me in absolute awe whenever I'm in her presence. She's an absolute force."

Lilly, who came out as a transgender in March after a reporter threatened to out her, was involved in recent controversy involving the hit Netflix series. She reportedly had a falling out with former star Aml Ameen, a Season 1 regular who played Capheus. The actor left in the middle of production, citing "creative differences" with the Wachowskis as the reason for his departure.

"It's just a case of, creatively, two people having a really different idea of what they want to do," actress Tuppence Middleton, who plays DJ Riley, told BuzzFeed. "I think the most important thing is that Capheus's storyline lives. He's a great character, and it would be a real shame to have that go away."

Ameen has since been replaced by Toby Onwumere.

Meanwhile, fans can expect "more sex, more violence, more of everything" in "Sense8" Season 2. The show's sophomore outing will feature the sensates working together to defeat the Whispers (Terrence Mann).

"The show is so much more interconnected this year. There's very rarely a scene that someone will have in their home city where someone else doesn't get folded in from the cluster." Said Brian J. Smith, who plays Will Gorski.

At the heart of the conflict is Smith's character, with whom Whispers physically latched himself to. In "Sense8" Season 2, Will is going to be in a highly medicated state and his altered consciousness blocks Whispers' ability to track him mentally.

Netflix has yet to reveal the official premiere date of "Sense8" Season 2.
