Front runners for the current season of "Game of Thrones" were still able to put back a littlw atmosphere of romance with Tormund and Brienne. In one of its episodes, Tormund was seen looking struck as his eyes crossed paths with Brienne in Castle. The on screen brewing romance can be speculated by some fans to happen in real life as both actors talked highly of each other in separate interviews.
Although the theme of romance had been unsuccessful in the series, with Robb Stark getting himself and her wife killed, and Jon Snow witnessing Ygritte killed by an arrow shot towards her. Amidst all the dark events that has happened in "Game of Thrones," there seems to be a little room for some lighter things like romance. Right after witnessing "The Door," speculations on the possibility of romance between Tormund and Brienne came spreading like wildfire.
This may be one of those things fans hope to happen as it signals positive vibes amidst all the chaos. In an interview with Tormund actor Kristofer Hivju, he said he was not so sure if that particular scene where Tormund saw Brienne meant anything like love at first sight. He revealed that Tormund does not differentiate love between lust, so what his character may have felt during the encounter is a love-lust at first sight kind of thing, Hollywood Reporter reported.
Hivju even added that he loves working with Brienne actress Gwendolyn Christie, revealing that they share several similarities. He said they both take up a lot of space and that Christie is a fantastic actress and fun to be with.
Meanwhile, Brienne actress Gwendolyn Christie revealed how Hivju behaves towards her, saying that his behavior was "extraordinary" and that he is "absolutely hilarious." Christie also expressed how she was able to enjoy her character being put in an awkward and unwanted attention, saying she enjoyed playing with the embarrassment the situation has put her character through, Entertainment Weekly reported.
The romance may likely to continue in real life like what happened to Kit Harrington and Rose Leslie. But for the least, some fans may be hoping it will continue to bloom within the show. Fans may become more hopeful that it develops in the coming episodes.
