"Empire" season 3 will reveal which between Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday) and Anika (Grace Gealey) will be killed off.

In the finale episode for season 2, Rhonda confronted Anika for pushing her down the stairs and trying to kill her.

At first, Anika denied her involvement in the accident, but she later on admitted to Rhonda that it was indeed her.

Obviously, Anika was jealous of Rhonda at that time because she was pregnant with who would've been Lucious Lyon's (Terrence Howard) first grandchild.

Following the accident, Rhonda and Andre's (Trai Byers) baby died even before Lucious could meet him.

In the finale episode last season, Andre walked into the room while his wife and Anika were fighting.

A few seconds before the episode ended, the two girls screamed at the top of their lungs and Andre ran towards them.

In an interview with Variety, executive producer Sanaa Hamri confirmed that Rhonda and Anika's fates will be revealed very early on in the season.

The exec also hinted on the possibility of Rhonda being killed off when she said, "Of course, we ended on Andre witnessing a death so that's going to deeply affect him."

Fact is, Andre will become more broken at the sight of his wife dying than of Anika.

Not to mention, the latter just tied the knot with Lucious and Hamri and executive producer Ilene Chaiken already confirmed that season 3 will be partly about Cookie's (Taraji P. Henson) reaction to Lucious' decision to wed Anika.

It wouldn't make that much sense, therefore, for Anika to die because Cookie is supposed to stay upset at her ex-husband.

Meanwhile, Hamri also confirmed that "Empire" season 3 will be about family.

"Season 3 is obviously going to be about the family dynamic, where Lucious Lyon is going to head, and where the relationship with his mother is going to take him. We also have to deal with Cookie who is devastated by Lucious' decision," she said.

Additionally, "Empire" season 3 will also introduce storylines focused on Jamal (Jussie Smollett), Lucious' half-brother Tariq and Hakeem (Bryshere Gray).

"Empire" season 3 will premiere on FOX sometime this year.
