"The Flash" season 3 will introduce at least one new character in its upcoming episodes.

According to TV Line's entertainment writer Michael Ausiello, the creators of "The Flash" will cast a much older counterpart of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin).

Ausiello added that Barry's older counterpart is also expected to be geekier than him.

By the looks of it, this Barry is the one from Earth-Three. This world was recently introduced in season two's finale episode.

"For season 3, The CW is hit is casting the major recurring character of Barrys slightly older, slightly geekier contemporary, a guy who is as smart as he is intuitive. As such, this newcomer doesn't buy Barry's nice guy routine and sets out to learn what he's hiding - all which concealing some secrets of his own," he said.

Meanwhile, viewers are also wondering whether or not Mirror Master from the comic books will finally be introduced in the show.

According to Ausiello, nothing has been finalized yet with regards to introducing the new character.

"I'm seeing nothing firm yet on Mirror Master being introduced..." he said.

In other news, "The Flash" season 3 will have a crossover with either "Arrow" season 5, "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 or "Supergirl" season 2.

According to IGN, there is an interesting storyline that may be explored if The CW execs decide to cross over "The Flash" with "Supergirl" or vice versa.

Now that it has been confirmed that "Supergirl" will feature Superman in its upcoming episodes, the publication noted that Barry's decision to alter the timeline may have also resulted in Kal-El turning into Superman.

"Could it be that Barry changing the timeline somehow caused Kal-El to become Superman, whereas on the original Earth-One he never did (and possibly never even left Krypton, or even existed for all we know)?" the publication noted.

They are also hinting on the possibility of Batman eventually showing up in "Supergirl."

However, as of late, none of these speculations have been cast in stone yet. It will also be more interesting to simply wait and see what the creators have in store for fans!

"The Flash" season 3 will premiere on The CW sometime this year.
