It was not so long ago when the musical drama series, "Nashville," ended its fourth and final season in the ABC network. With the series being cancelled, rumors are pointing to details that the show still has a chance to be renewed for another season in the CMT network.
According to Deadline, when ABC confirmed that it would not renew the series for a fifth installment, the producer of the show, Lionsgate TV, was said to have found another network - CMT - that would continue the franchise. The report cited that the two camps are still in talks about it, but even if that is the case, rumors are loud that CMT will most probably acquire "Nashville" Season 5.
It was also said that aside from CMT, "Nashville" Season 5 may have a streaming platform through Hulu. It was also reported that Lionsgate TV made two versions of the fourth installment's finale episode, and that the producer chose to use the cliffhanger than the other ending because the producer is highly optimistic that "Nashville" would be renewed for its fifth season even if it would be on another network.
On the other hand, according to Variety, the production team already planned "Nashville" Season 5. The report also noted that executive producers' Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Swick received the funds to produce "Nashville" Season 5. It was also emphasized that the contracts of the actors' will remain active for a couple of seasons.
Meanwhile, other reports are loud that "Nashvile" still has many supporters. In fact, the fans of the series created a petition which was said to have been signed by about 200,000 individuals. Despite of that, ABC was reported to remain silent about the issue.
As of the moment, there is still no official announcement whether there would be a "Nashville" Season 5. Perhaps, in the coming weeks or months, Lionsgate TV may finally announce if the show was obtained by CMT or Hulu.
