'Sherlock Holmes 3' creation process is pacing fast. Recently, the return of Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law to their roles as Sherlock Holmes and John Watson, respectively was in the news. Now, the plot of the upcoming third instalment has been revealed.
According to IGN reports, Downey Jr. reveals the storyline of the upcoming movie. He claimed that it will be based on the original work of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. "Yes, we have a 'Sherlock 3' in development. We want it to be the best of the series, so that's a pretty tall order... Also, Perry Mason is a property I'm looking forward to developing further, going back to the 1931 book series ... similarly to what we did with the first 2 'Sherlocks,' mining the original material for things that are 'new.'"
Producer Lionel Wigram positively told The Mirror that they have a really 'good writer' and indeed 'Sherlock Holmes 3' is on the making track.
As the script has been penned down there are speculations of the movie's plot as well. 'Sherlock Holmes 3' will be best of the series, promises Jude Law.
According to Cinema Blend, the plot would be 'Time Travel' and Jude Law has pitched the story for it.
I still think it's a good idea! I don't want to say, 'Yeah it's true,' and then it kind of blows the idea out of the water. But I guess, if I'm being honest, I think both Robert [Downey Jr.] and Guy [Ritchie] kind of went... what? But I kind of thought... I can't remember.
I thought that was in top secret. I'm amazed that someone has leaked that. Yeah, I thought [we could] sort of combine H.G. Wells and Sherlock Holmes. And then Downey topped it by going, 'Yeah, and the time travel machine is... it's something you eat.' I wonder what he's referring to there? I don't know. You eat it and you go, 'Oh my God, I'm in 2024!'"
