The most anticipated battle scenes in the history of the "Game of Thrones" is over. It would be an understatement to say that the showrunners delivered the most ambitious battle scene ever in the best possible way that they could ever have.

The "Game of Thrones" Season 6 episode 9 "Battle of the Bastards" aired June 19, Sunday. The episode showed how Jon Snow, played by Kit Harington, strives to win back Winterfell by taking assistance from his sister Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen).

Whatever happens in the episode is definitely what the fans had been waiting to see since the beginning of the Season 6. In the final showdown against each other, Jon Snow brutally beats the villain, Ramsay Bolton nearly to death. However, it is Sansa Stark, who gets the chance to give a final blow to the villain.

Sansa Stark, who was again desperately waiting to take revenge against Ramsay Bolton, had already arranged for hounds to eat Ramsay Bolton away. Recently, the actor whose fate was decided in the penultimate episode, opened up about his character's assassination on the show.

Rheon explained to Entertainment Weekly how he learned about his character's fate when the producers called him up to joke about whether it would be great to see Ramsay Bolton ending up on the Iron Throne.

"As soon as they said that I said, 'He's dead isn't he?' It's cool. I've had four lovely seasons here," Rheon told the publication. "It's been great to be involved with such an amazing show. I think it's kind of right he goes down."

The 31-year-old British actor further stated the decision made by the writers as correct by saying that there was nothing else that his character could have done on the show. His death was justified and the most apt thing to do by the end of Season 6.

In episode 9 of the show, Ramsay Bolton is defeated in spite of the fact that his strategy was far better that Jon Snow had planned from his side. The defeat just happened because of the extra men provided by the Littlefinger and Sansa Stark.

However, Rheon is not at all disappointed by his fate on the show, People reports. According to Rheon, Jon Snow had to win or else there would be no hope left in the world.
