NVIDIA is having terrific sales lately despite their lack of additional stock for the GTX 1080 as it gets sold out quickly leading to rumors of the upcoming GTX 1080 Ti.
The new Pascal card from NVIDIA has been launched on May 27 but retailers and online shops are still having trouble getting stocks. This is true for the expensive GTX 1080 Founders Edition and worse for the partner AIB custom cards which were just starting to surface several days ago.
Now, the success of team green have led others to speculating that new and more powerful cards may be coming. The increasing number of sales each day could push the company to speed up the development of the rumored video cards.
Earlier reports have already claimed that the GP 102 chip exists and it could be used for the GTX 1080 Ti, TechFrag has learned. NVIDIA has always released a Titanium Edition of their most powerful card in each generation as proven with the GTX 780 Ti and the GTX 980 Ti.
It is expected that the Titanium Edition will provide more performance boosts compared to the reference cards. The company could also launch a new Titan card for the 10 series which could completely decimate the numbers and benchmarks of the previous generation considering that the Ti and the Titan X are the only ones barely holding up with the new GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 cards.
People are still busy trying to get their hands on a GTX 1080 from retailers and online stores, which are selling the cards at a higher than usual price because of the small number of stocks. ASUS is even selling their GTX 1080 Founders Edition at Amazon for a staggering $849, Fudzilla reported.
Partner cards like the Gigabyte XTREME Gaming and the EVGA FTW Gaming ACX 3.0 versions are also out of stock. They have been found to perform better than the Founders Edition cards by a small margin and they cost less at around $620 to $680.
NVIDIA has yet to announce whether they are working on the GTX 1080 Ti or the TITAN equivalent for the Pascal 10 series. The increasing sales of the GTX 1080 cards and the lack of stocks in some stores could lead to the company just waiting to unveil their new, more powerful GPUs.
