It was just in 2015 when the hit action comedy film, "Spy," starring Melissa McCarthy, Jason Statham, Rose Byrne, and Jude Law, conquered the applause of the critics, and has gained USD$235 million worldwide with the budget of only USD$65 million. Now, recent reports are loud that the sequel is going to show Statham to be less self-aware.

According to Gamespot, the director of the film, Paul Feig, said during an interview that he intends to make Rick Ford, played by Statham, even more dumber in "Spy 2." The director also said that he has a hilarious plot relating to Statham's character in the "Spy 2."

Feig added that although his favorite character in the movie is Susan Cooper, played by McCarthy, he cited that it is Ford that is full of funny stuff, and that he would choose Ford over Cooper. The report also noted that the film mostly gained positive reviews from movie critics.

On the other hand, although the director of the film provided teaser to the fans, it is quite unfortunate that Feig has not confirmed if "Spy 2" would really happen in the near future, Den of Geek reported. The publication also noted that "Spy 2" has not yet been announced. Despite of this, fans are hoping that the sequel would come to reality, given that the first installment was a box office hit.

Meanwhile, fans are speculating that "Spy 2" may start its filming in the near future, knowing that Feig has finished his "Ghostbuster Reboot" film, which is due to be released on July. The upcoming "Ghostbuster" movie also includes McCarthy, who is also one of the lead cast members of "Spy."

As of the moment, the only detail of "Spy 2" is the clue that the director himself provided to the fans, and that is more appearances or storylines for Statham's character. Perhaps, in the coming weeks or months, more firm information about the anticipated "Spy 2" would surface.
