The upcoming camera from Fujifilm, dubbed as X-T2 is rumored to support 4K video recording at 30 fps using its 24.3-megapixel sensor. As of the moment, an exact release date has not yet been confirmed but the camera was said to be announced on July 7.
Newest leaks for the Fujifilm X-T2 recently surfaced from a Japanese website, Digicame-info, stating the possible specs and features of the said camera. The X-T2 is said to include a 24.3-megapixel CMOS sensor, an X-Processor Pro engine and dual SD card slots, Slash Gear reported. It will also include a 3-way hinged 3-inch display with 1.62 million dots, the report added.
Rumors on the upcoming X-T2 first started in April when several "spy shots" of its images were released. Aside from the above-mentioned features, the X-T2 will also support 4K Ultra HD video recording at 30 fps and full HD recording at 60 fps.
It also has a 1/8000 sec max shutter and a 1/32000 max electronic shutter with an ISO range of 200 to 12,800. In addition to these, the X-T2 also includes a hybrid 325-point AF system, a 2.36M-dot EVF with 100 fps refresh rate, a Dual UHS-II supported SD card slots, +/-5 exposure comp, and a 256-segment metering, Peta Pixel reported.
Fujifilm is expected to launch the upcoming camera on July 7. Although this has not yet been confirmed by the company, it will only be a matter of few days for Fujifilm to release full details of the camera's specifications and its official launch date.
As for its price, specific details have not yet been suggested by any sources. Based on historical reference, its predecessor, the Fujifilm X-T1, was priced at around $1,299 with only a body included. Possible consumers may refer to this price as the X-T2 may not stray away from the said figure.
The previous iteration has a 16.3MP CMOS sensor with lesser high quality video recording pegged at 1080p at 60 fps. It has the same 3-inch screen but with lesser dots of only around 1 million compared to its successor. The processor it uses is EXR compared to the X-Processor Pro engine of the T-X2.
