"Assassin's Creed" movie that will star Michael Fassbender as Callum Lynch will not be mediocre like other video game movies. The movie will be aimed at a wider audience and not just to those who are familiar with the franchise.

It is not a surprising fact that many movie adaptation of even the most popular video games do not the critical acclaim that its producers had expected. According to the company blog, Ubisoft believes "Assassin's Creed" will not bear the same stigma.

Azaizia Aymar, Head of Content for Assassin's Creed at Ubisoft, has explained why the movie would be different. He said that they are striving to respect the "[Assassin's Creed" DNA while being able to apply new ideas.

"We want everything to feel legit," he said. He then continued by expressing confidence that part of the task has been achieved in "a nice way" at present.

His statement further implied that the movie is not only intended for fans of the video game but also the general audience. He also said, "So we decided that every single project we were working on had to be completely independent and self-sufficient."

That statement includes the movie. On the other hand, Ubisoft's European boss Alain Corre has admitted that they are not expecting to make a huge sum of money from the upcoming big screen adaptation.

The title that will star Michael Fassbender is rather a marketing strategy to boost the image of the brand. Corre said that they want to promote the franchise to even more people.

Now, as the "Assassin's Creed" debuting on big screens worldwide this year, Ubisoft will not release a new mainline game in the series. Through this, the team marketing the film can focus more on stimulating the audience's interest.

Now, as far as hyping the movie is concerned "Assassin's Creed" lead actor Michael Fassbender has made headlines for appearing shirtless in a teaser photo for the film. Furthermore, according to Just Jared, Fassbender is joined by Oscar-winners Marion Cotillard.

The synopsis of the movie states that Callum Lynch gains the memories of his ancestor Aguilar. He then realizes that he is part of a very old secret Assassins society. As he explores his ancestry and Aguilar's memories he gains abilities of a Master Assassin in the process.

The synopsis is not much of a spoiler so for fans who want to learn more of Callum Lynch, the movie is coming to theaters on Dec. 21.
