Meanwhile, producer Ronald D. Moore revealed a lot about the just-concluded season and the upcoming season. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he revealed that they are working on the scripts. Since there are two season pickups, the team will be following an overall accelerated production schedule. Also, Season 3 is a traveling show and thus, the team is looking to make long range plans with regard to the shooting elements.

Talking about the Season 2 finale and the use of Chamber Brother's "Time has Come Today," Moore said that it was the idea of writers Matt Roberts and Toni Graphi, which everyone loved from the beginning itself. As for the title card featuring the scene from "The Avengers," Moore revealed that it started with Robets, but ultimately it was their assistant Marina Campbell who came up with the idea. The idea fitted perfectly with the vision of showing something iconic to the American audience.

Shedding light on the challenges the writers faced because of the book's plot that involved dense political machinations in France, he said that it was tricky. The team kept finding ways to try to unite the storylines and it was really a struggle. But they succeeded at last and writer Diana Gabaldon was also happy with the job they had done.

Moore also denied that setting the season's beginning in the 40s was a way to give Tobias Menzies more screen time. According to The Wall Street Journal, they kept it that way because the leap into 60s would have felt too big for the audience. Lastly, he said that he regret the death of Duke of Sandringham and missed him as he was a great character.
