"Uncontrollably Fond" star Bae Suzy, 21, has donated 10 million Won ($8,770) to children in need. Latest reports claimed that the singer-turned-actress has made her charitable donation to the corporation called "Dream On Social Welfare Society."

On July 13, it was revealed that Suzy's father, Bae Wan Young, personally went to the Boseong Country Office to make the donation on her behalf, Soompi reported. Speaking to a large group of reporters, Suzy's father said, "We hope that this will be of even a little help to the students who live in farming areas."

The donation will be used to help incoming middle school students in Boseong County, South Korea, who still do not have enough money to pay for their school uniforms. Suzy's agency, JYP Entertainment, responded to reports by saying that the star has made the donation without telling the entertainment label.

The Miss A member has consistently engaged in numerous charity works. On June 13, the K-pop idol has also donated 10 million won ($87,770) to a charity managed by the Buk District Council of Gwangju. Earlier reports noted that Suzy's parents reportedly visited the council together to deliver the money.

The said donation will be used to help low-income families living in the area. In 2015, she became the second female idol after Girls' Generation's Im Yoona, 26, to surpass more than 100 million won ($87,801) in total donations to the Community Chest of Korea.

"I came to learn of the Honor Society through my parents and other good people around me," Korea's News Nate quoted Suzy as saying before a group of local reporters. "I joined because I wanted to give a little bit of strength to those in need."

Suzy added that she wants to help in providing treatment to children who suffer from the ill effects of pediatric malignancy and terminal illnesses. With the donation, Suzy becomes the 791th member of their donation club called Honor Society and overall, the seventh celebrity to have joined the said club.

Suzy made her acting debut as one of the main leads in KBS2's "Dream High" (2011). She is best known for her notable roles as young Yang Seo-Yeon in 2012's romance film "Architecture 101" and Dam Yeo Wool in MBC's "Gu Family Book."

The singer-actress is currently starring in KBS 2TV's new drama "Uncontrollably Fond," along with actor Kim Woo Bin. The drama, which premiered on July 6, follows the ill-fated relationship of a top star named Shin Joon Young (Kim) and No Eul (Suzy), a documentary producer.
