In February, HP first showcased its first hybrid device at the Mobile World Congress event, the HP Elite X3. Now, the time has come for the launch of this latest Windows phone that functions as a smartphone, tablet and PC to be available on Aug. 29.
Business enthusiasts can use the device for any complicated business purpose. Designed to ensure desktop business, laptop and phablet productivity, the Elite X3 combines the functions and power of a PC.
Particularly built-for-business purpose, the device comes loaded with the best features of a Windows smartphone. The good news is the device can be readily switched from a phablet to a desktop PC to a laptop. The device features a 5.96-inch WQHD AMOLED multi-touch display with a 16MP rear camera that features a flash and a front camera of 8MP.
Under the hood, the device tucks in a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and features Microsoft's Continuum. This is a special feature that helps to transform the small-scale interface into an integrated Windows desktop environment.
Once you connect a monitor, the Continuum feature will help to display content from your phone on the screen. Users can easily convert from a phablet screen to an external screen. It is, therefore, easy to turn your phone into a workstation with the Elite X3, Engadget reported.
According to reports, HP Elite X3 will start shipping in August for a decent price of $699. Packed with killer specs and a 64GB of memory, this cutting-edge phablet is aimed towards the corporate world. A $799 Elite X3 bundle will fetch you a Desk Dock that can connect the device with a monitor so that the X3 can be used as a desktop PC, according to BGR.
The device comes with dual-SIM slots, 802.11ac WiFi, 4-gigabytes of LPDDR4 RAM, a microSD card slot and a 64GB internal storage space. One of the most special features is a biometric authentication feature like fingerprint reader and iris detection on X3.
The HP New Elite X3 is designed for the corporate world where IT managers can use it and multitasks easily. You can quickly turn the Elite X3 into a laptop as it can be hooked up to your smartphone through a USB Type-C cable or wirelessly.
