The battle between the winners of the culinary competition is warming up and the viewers enjoy the various Japanese cuisines on their TV screens along with the close battle among the chefs. As the news was doing the rounds, Yoshitomo Yonetani has reprised as the director of the series.
This famous anime series ''Food Wars! Shokugeki No Soma'' is directed by Yoshitomo Yonetani, and Crunchyroll is airing the season 2 which is titled as ''Food Wars: The Second Plate.'' Yuto Tsukuda is the writer of this manga series on which the anime is adapted. The first episode of season 2 was titled ''Sono Hako ni Tsumeru mono" (which means "What Fills the Box"). It was aired on July 2, 2016 on Japan's MBS.
The main cast of this anime series has reprised in the season 2 too. The viewers saw that the main character Soma Yukihira (voice was given by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka in Japanese) was gearing up for the battle with Alice Nakiri (voice was given by Chinatsu Akasaki in Japanese, reported by Myanimelist). The theme of the main tournament of the upcoming ''Autumn Elections'' is bentos. Alice uses are scientific techniques and state-of-the-art equipments and prepares a temari sushi bento. Soma presents a nori bento dish and finally was declared the winner.
In episode 2, which was aired on Jul. 9, 2016, the viewers saw Megumi going up against Ryo in the second match. This episode was named as "Kōsakusuru Hikari to Kage" (which means ''The Interplay of Light and Shadow"). The theme was decided as a ramen dish which used pre-prepared noodles. Ryo presented his Soupe de Poisson Ramen and impressed the judges, reported Anime News Network. Kozuyu Chicken Soy Sauce Ramen was the creation of Megumi and the episode ended with a suspense when many viewers prayed that Megumi should win the show.
Episode 3 which was aired on Jul. 16, 2016, broke some hearts and gave some hopes to the rest. The fans of Ryo Kurokiba (voice was given by Okamoto, Nobuhiko in Japanese) rejoiced as he won the battle against Megumi Tadokoro (voice given by Minami Takahashi in Japanese). Even though Megumi was appreciated for her efforts, her fans were upset.
The next day a hamburger duel decided the fate of Akira Hayama (voice given by Junichi Suwabe in Japanese) and Hisako Arato (voice given by Saori Oonishi in Japanese). Hisako's dish a soft-shelled turtle burger finally loses its battle against Akira's kebab burger. In episode 4, it was revealed that Mimasaka defeated Takumi Aldini, and the viewers are waiting for the result of episode 5. It is expected that Yukihira will reveal to Mimasaka about the beef stew which he is going to cook. Mimasaka who is known for copying the opponents might even make use of this piece of information.
The finals will see Soma, Megumi, Takumi, Hisako, Alice, Kurokiba, Hayama, and Mimasaka fighting it out and the fans are waiting with bated breath to see the winner after the 13-episode season 2. Till then watch this interesting video.
