Many fans were wondering why Paul Heyman was not drafted to Monday Night Raw along with his client Brock Lesnar. The latest rumors suggest that Heyman's contract with the WWE has expired but the two sides are expected to agree on a new deal before SummerSlam.

According to The Wrestling Observer, Heyman was not under a WWE deal at the time of the draft so he was not included in the list of eligible talents. It should be noted that his contract expired in May but the two sides are negotiating a new deal.

Two months have passed since Heyman's contract expired and SummerSlam is just around the corner. However, it is expected that both sides will agree on a contract eventually because The Advocate is a big part of Lesnar's character.

The reason why both sides have not agreed on a new deal is because of some Heyman's outside projects, Pro Wrestling Sheet reported. The 50-year-old manager signed a distribution deal with Yahoo! Sports in March.

Heyman will also be doing a reality show based on his advertising agency and will feature Emmy Award-winner Mitchell K. Stuart. Filming has already finished but they are still looking for a network and it is getting interests from Lionsgate and several television stations in the Great Britain.

The Looking4Larry Agency was founded Heyman and it produces content for companies such as the WWE, UFC, Disney and Maker Studios. He also has his own video channel, Heyman Hustle that features him interacting with celebrities in the streets of New York City.

As for Heyman and Lesnar's relationship, they are great friends on and off the wrestling ring that started when they were paired together in 2002. He then became The Advocate of The Beast in his WWE return in 2012. The 50-year-old manager is one of the greatest talkers in wrestling history and helps build Lesnar's matches by just using his words.

On the other hand, the Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton match is still on despite two failed drug tests for the former UFC heavyweight champion. Nevertheless, the WWE will closely monitor the investigation on Lesnar's doping case.
