The English actor is known for appearing in many television series and movies, including "Blade: The Series," ABC's "Make it or Break It" and BBC's revival of "Upstairs, Downstairs." Aside from being an actor, Jackson is a writer popular for his work "The Passage."

Aside from Jackson, "The Originals" Season 4 will also see another new player in New Orleans. Christina Moses will be Dr. Keelin, an ER doctor and a bisexual werewolf who is the last wolf in her line. Unaware of the troubles that may arise, Keelin will be clueless when she meets the Mikaelson family.

The cast of "The Originals" also teased about the advanced timeline in the new season. During the show's panel with Entertainment Weekly, they announced that the upcoming season will have a five year jump into the future.

"I think it's kind of been Hayley and her daughter for the last five years," Phoebe Tonkin told the publication. "Grandma Mary's coming back, and she's kind of a babysitter here and there, looking after her while Hayley has to go do adult things like looking for weird plants and herbs and things.

In Season 4, viewers will be able to see Hayley (Tonkin) with her grown-up daughter, Hope, who is also Klaus's child. Their daughter will be tasked to unite the family. However, she must first find the seven werewolf packs.

As "The Originals" Season 4 is heading for another year, its predecessor "The Vampire Diaries" is closing its doors after Season 8. "The Originals" is slated for a 2017 release while "The Vampire Diaries" will resume on Oct. 21 on The CW.
