2NE1 comeback was reportedly pushed back as YG Entertainment is looking for Minzy's replacement for the group.

There are wild rumors that YG Entertainment is looking for a new member for 2NE1. This is in contradiction to the label's earlier statement in April when Minzy left the group.

"We are sorry to inform the many 2NE1 fans who've waited so long. We are making an official announcement that 2NE1's maknae Minzy will no longer be a part of 2NE1."

"With the end of 2NE1's contract with YG coming up on May 5, 2016, we met with the 2NE1 members this past January to discuss their intentions about re-signing. However, Minzy expressed her intentions that were different from the group."

"The remaining three members have re-signed, and they're preparing for a new song release for this summer as 2NE1. We are not looking for an additional member to replace Minzy."

However, there are other reasons cited that delay 2NE1's comeback. The main reason for the delay is the imminent debut of YG Entertainment new flagship girl group - BLACKPINK. Dubbed as the second coming of 2NE1, the new female group has four members that reminded fans of 2NE1. YG is increasing the anticipation of waiting fans by releasing teasers for weeks until its debut. Moreover, it seems that all resources are given to the new group to ensure its success.

In addition, Dara is leaving South Korea for some time to work in the Philippines where she got her break in the entertainment industry. Reports claimed that she will host a reality TV show. Since it's a TV show, it will most likely run for months. This means the trio is not preparing for any possible comeback in months.

Meanwhile, reports claimed that Minzy is prepping for her solo debut under her new label Music Works. There is no definite date as to when Minzy will be back on stage. Minzy will hold a fan meeting later this month.
