YG girl group BLACKPINK debut has been confirmed on Aug. 8. and YG Entertainment reportedly tried to create a rivalry between the two groups to help boost the new group's fame.
While YG confirmed the debut date, S.M. just announced that Red Velvet comeback will be this summer, although no official date has been announced.
Below are the pairings of the members of BLACKPINK and Red Velvet in case both groups will battle each other this week.
Jennie Kim vs Irene (Leaders and Main Rappers)
Both Jennie Kim and Irene are the leaders and main rappers of their respective groups. While S.M. Entertainment tend to choose the oldest to be leaders, YG said that he chooses the middle members to be leaders to make them more responsible. Jennie Kim has showed her prowess in rapping.
Park Chaeyoung vs Wendy (Main Vocals)
Despite being young, Wendy is the main vocal of Red Velvet and has a high pitch. Park Chaeyoung, on the other hand, has proven her vocals when he was featured in one of G-Dragon's track "Without You" where she belted high notes.
Kim Jisoo vs Seulgi and Joy (Visuals)
Kim Jisoo was born in 1995 making her the eldest. She looks like Sandara Park and even before her debut, she appeared in music videos and various CFs like her sunbae who is considered as the prettiest in YG. Meanwhile, Seulgi has been named to possess one of the most beautiful faces in the world. Joy, on the other hand, has that what Koreans call as eye smile.
Lisa Manoban vs Yeri (Maknae)
Lisa was born on March 27, 1997 making her the youngest member among the four. Moreover, her videos showed her powerful dancing that made us remember Minzy who left the group last month. She will be up against Red Velvet's sweet maknae Yeri.
