If you have been missing McDonald's Chicken Selects for the past two years, you will have the chance to savor them again in March. Next month the fast food giant will be bringing back the strips of chicken tenderloin in the U.S., but only for a limited time.

The suggested price of three pieces of Chicken Selects will be $2.99. However, franchises throughout the nation can select their own prices.

In 2013 Mcdonald's removed the white-meat item from its U.S. menu, after a decade-long run. The order of premium chicken is still available in several countries outside the U.S.

McDonald's spokeswoman Terri Hickey noted that the worldwide chain has been listening to its customers. It is "excited" to bring back Chicken Selects, according to Yahoo.

Chicken Selects is so popular that it has a cult following. There is even a Facebook group called "Bring Back McDonald's Chicken Selects."

It is likely that U.S. poultry farmers are also pleased about the return of Chicken Selects. This will boost the golden arches' orders during the next month.

The poultry industry has had huge profits in the past few years. However, recently it has experienced an oversupply.

McDonald's and Burger King have also lately been involved in a price war, due to the higher prices of beef and pork, according to Fox News. Burger King has added 10 chicken nuggets for $1.49 to its menu, while at some locations McDonald's is offering a ginormous 50 McNuggets for just $9.99.

The chain's restaurants will probably have additional chicken items on their menus. They will also likely keep the promotions going longer than usual.
