The new producer for the South Korean variety show "Running Man" has given his insights on the show's future, its format and cast members. Meanwhile, avid Chinese fans will soon have the chance to meet the cast members of the show such as Lee Kwang Soo, Song Ji Hyo and more.

Producing director (PD) Kim Joo Hyung has taken over the SBS show "Running Man" as its solo PD in early July. In a recent interview, he talked about the seven cast members and the show's positive points that have turned it into one of South Korea's long-running variety shows, Soompi reported.

He mentioned that the "Running Man" cast members themselves were one of the reasons why the show has lasted for a long time. The variety show first aired in July 2010 with cast members Yoo Jae Seok, Ji Suk Jin, singers Kim Jong Kook, Gary and Haha, as well as Kwang Soo and actress Ji Hyo. Avid fans may recall that "Descendants of the Sun" actor Song Joong Ki was also an original cast member prior his departure from the show in 2011.

PD Joo Hyung stated that the cast members have shown great chemistry with other over the years. He added that each of the seven members has their own characteristics and strengths that have captured the interest of fans. The showrunner commented that the bond and friendship that the cast members have developed since the first season has even matured.

He continued that the show's classic and iconic nametag elimination game will still be featured in upcoming episodes. However, he teased that they are planning to incorporate it into the show in a different way. Although he did not disclose whether viewers will see the said game frequently on the SBS variety show.

In other news, SBS has previously announced that a series of "Running Man" fan meetings will be held in various Chinese cities between the months of September until November, Yonhap News reported.  The location details of the upcoming fan meeting China tour has yet to be revealed. However, all seven members of the variety show will join the said events.
