LG has now officially confirmed that their upcoming LG V20 will be the first smartphone to run Android 7.0 Nougat which means it will be released before the Google Nexus 2016 smartphones.

The search engine giant usually launches their co-developed Android smartphones that showcase their newest Android versions through the Nexus line. However, it seems like the LG V20 would be the first device to carry the Android 7.0 Nougat version.

LG has recently released a press release for the United States in English that gives out several details regarding the new LG V20 Android smartphone with the Nougat version, Droid-life has learned. One of the highlighted features is the Vulkan API that will be used for the phone's graphics.

Doom 2016 for the PC has recently received the Vulkan API patch that aims to improve the graphics performance of the shooter for older video cards. In fact, it has netted a significant increase in framerates for AMD Radeon cards such as the recently released Radeon RX 480 powered by the new Polaris 10 GPU.

The LG V20 will be a successor to the LG V10 smartphone that was a surprise hit last year that costs around $600, Engadget reported. It is expected that the new smartphone would have a similar price tag.

Official specs of the LG V20 has not been disclosed by the South Korean tech giant yet. However, the company did highlight some features of the Android 7.0 Nougat version to generate hype from its customers.

The LG V20 with Nougat will support the Doze battery saving feature that is already present in the Android 6.0 Marshmallow version. It would also support the new Direct Reply feature that will allow users to quickly reply to messages without having to exit the app that they are currently in.

LG Electronics and Mobile Communications President Juno Cho said that the LG V20 will have "cutting-edge multimedia features" and will be the first phone to run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
