Are fans ever going to get a video game that justifies AMC's "The Walking Dead" is one of the most intriguing questions. This is one question that has been on the mind of every fan of the zombie series, and the decision to launch one such game is all upto AMC.

Most of the fans are desperately waiting for "The Walking Dead" game that allows them to relate to the characters they see on screen when they play the game. However, it is not like there are no video games based on "TWD" comics a;ready. Telltale has several to its credit. It has already released two seasons of a video game with the "TWD" namesake. At the recently-concluded San Diego Comic-Con, the company also revealed details about the third season that it will be launching.

Still, it is not going to be much consolation to fans because the games do not have familiar characters, viewers and fans see on-screen. Though "The Walking Dead: Survival Instincts" (another game), does have Daryl, the storyline revolves around a prequel, which is completely out of sync with the television series and makes little sense to the players who have seen the show.

So, looks like it is all left to the showrunners at AMC to come up with a solid game that will give players some real feel of the dangerous world that they are accustomed to seeing on screen. Nevertheless, all hope is not lost. Till the wishful idea materializes, fans can resort to "State of Decay," Creators claims. This is a game with a TWD aura that premiered on Xbox Live and can be still accessed in the Xbox archives.

The game is enjoyable, but one may find it to be a little lengthy as there is no fast travel method available. As for the plot, it has all the elements of the television series like collecting weapons, supplies, and vehicles to destroy the zombies. Therefore, as a zombie world fan, a gamer may enjoy this version of the game.

What is more, TWD creators can take it as an inspiration while modeling their new game, if they ever plan to come up with one. It is not one of the most popular games, yet it has a great potential for development and can be revamped to create some fresh magic.
