Xiaomi will reportedly bring Android 7.0 Nougat update soon to devices like the Mi4, Mi5, Mi Max and Redmi Note 3. The update will supposedly start rolling out to the devices in 2017.

The Chinese electronics company previously rolled out Marshmallow version of the operating system to its several devices and now it plans to release additional updates to both low end and premiums handsets, Neurogadget reported.

For some time rumors have been circulating that a total of ten Xiaomi devices are lined up for Android 7.0 version. The Mi 4s, Redmi 2 Prime, Mi 4i, Mi c, Redmi 2 Prime, the Note Pro are among the other Xiaomi phones to receive the update. However, the company will probably introduce new features to the OS when it arrives officially on the phones.

Following Xiaomi's previous trend of releasing software updates at a slow pace, the new update is not expected to be available anytime soon this year. There is possibility that the Noughat update will be initially available for 5X and 6P Nexus devices and eventually it will be brought to other OEMs like Samsung, LG, OnePlus, Asus and others.

Right now, a lot of Xiaomi devices are running on Android Marshmallow, except a few that are slated to receive the OS by Aug. 16. It seems the company will probably roll out the Marshmallow firmware update before the latest Nougat updates arrives in the market.

Until now, 4 developer previews of the upcoming firmware have been released, but the final version is still pending. There are several interesting features of the new software that include multi window support, Data saving features, notifications, enhanced power efficiency and more.

Google announced at the IO event this year that users can download Android 7.0 Nougat Developer Preview 5 that packs in new improvements and bug fixes along with additional features, Tech Radar reported. While a few weeks still remains for the new Nougat update to officially arrive in the market, users in the meantime can download the OS through a few simple processes.

Visit the Android Beta website and sign up, Then, select "Enroll device" and follow the procedures to get the software on your phones. It should, however, be noted that only owners of Huawei P9 or Sony Xperia Z3 or Google Nexus are eligible for this download.
