Selena Gomez is on the cover page of the August edition of Vogue Australia in which the singer blamed her relationship singer Justin Bieber for her lack of focus on work.
However, it is not the picture of the celebrity but her revelations this time that has made fans buy the issue. Gomez has taken a swipe at her ex, Justin Bieber, in the present edition of the magazine. She blamed her relationship for her 'not-so-serious' approach towards her career. In conversation with the media outlet, the actress said that her success was quite difficult as her personal life played more significant role in the media than her professional life.
"Nobody really knows everything and they can only assume," she said. "You want to do what you love but all this other stuff overshadows it so it makes it a little harder for people to take me seriously." The singer added that whether fortunately or unfortunately, whatever has happened in her life, she has now accepted everything the way it is.
Gomez also reveals that it has become difficult for her to date anyone now as it will immediately come into the industry limelight. She added that she hardly manages to get the attention of the type of guys she actually wanted to date. "The guys that do have the confidence to hit on me are not necessarily my type, but they think they are because I'm a pop star, I sing songs, do movies, I like to feel sexy and confident on stage," News.com.au quoted Gomez as saying.
"I'd be so stoked with a writer or producer or actor who is low-key, but this kind of guys are terrified of me! I think people would think it's kind of dumb (to date me). "Nobody would want to throw themselves into that situation where it was so heightened publicly, like, why would they?"
Herald News Media mentioned that Gomez and Bieber had a rocking time together from 2011 to 2015. The actress-cum-singer admitted that she took her professional life casually while being in the relationship but now she knew her priorities. Her relationship with Bieber was officially over in 2015 but the couple was spotted together many times even after the period. That period, according to Gomez, overshadowed the initial stage of the singer's music career.
