Niantic issues permanent bans on players who cheat when playing the game. The game maker implements the bans cheaters who rely on bots, GPS spoofing, and other software techniques that enable you to play the game outside Niantic's design parameters.

Players, who are aware of the tricky ways of winning the game, can use GPS spoofing that tricks the smartphone into believing that the player is located in any other country. This allows players to catch Pokemons easily that are restricted in other regions or may be located in that area.

According to Niantic, the violation of its terms of service can lead to a permanent ban. The game developer company recently posted on its website, "This includes, but is not limited to: falsifying your location, using emulators, modified or unofficial software and/or accessing Pokemon Go clients or backends in an unauthorized manner including through the use of third-party software."

Niantic aims at providing a legitimate, fun and fair game experience for all. The American software development company promises to enhance the quality of the gameplay, including fine-tuning and ongoing optimization of the anti-cheat system.

It is, however, still not clear how Niantic will detect the use of emulators, bots, GPS spoofing, etc. For quite some time, users have been receiving several levels of bans. The new permanent ban advises its players not to use any third-party programming interface, The Verge reported.

It is for certain that Niantic does not support other websites that enable users to simply their Pokemon experience, according to PC Mag. In the last two weeks, the company has sent desist and cease letters to the game's APIs. When a spokesperson for Niantic was approached for comment, he declined to comment. Instead, the spokesman requested to go through the appeal process note on its website.
