Samsung is reportedly developing a new and improved Android smartphone to follow the Galaxy J line dubbed as the Galaxy J7 Prime which is expected to have higher specs than its predecessor.

The South Korean tech giant already has the Galaxy J7 which is more targeted for the mainstream market as it is cheaper than the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge flagship phones. Numerous leaks and rumors have already surfaced regarding the Galaxy J7 Prime and it could be shaping up to be another bestseller from Samsung.

One of the most recent leaks is that the Android phone was spotted in a TENAA certification log. It could mean that the Galaxy J7 Prime is close to being released and has finished the earlier stages of development, Digital Trends has learned.

Several reports claim that the Galaxy J7 Prime will feature a 1080p 5.5-inch AMOLED screen. Powering the device is either a Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor for the international version or an Exynos 7870 for the Asian market similar to their current offerings.

For those who love to multitask with their smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime is expected to have 3GB of RAM. The upgraded J7 will also last longer than usual thanks to a 3300mAh battery that is above average compared to today's standards, GSMArena reported.

Leaks also claim that the rear camera will have 13 megapixels while the front snapper will have 5 megapixels. The camera setup is highly similar to the current Galaxy J7 offering from Samsung.

Pricing and availability have not been confirmed so far but reports claim that Samsung will remain to be competitive in their price tag. The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime is not really a high-end Android smartphone but it could possibly take on the current Zenfone 3 offerings from ASUS which target the mid to high-end market.

Samsung's Galaxy J7 Prime could be announced soon considering the leaked info from the log. The release could also be different depending on the regions with Korea probably getting the first shipment of the phones with the Exynos processors.
