Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder once again proved that they are not threatened by Nina Dobrev's upcoming return to "The Vampire Diaries" season 8.

In fact, the couple is just focusing their attention on asking help on behalf of the residents of Louisiana who were affected by the recent flood.

On his Instagram account, Somerhalder shared a short video with his wife talking about what he felt after he found out about the floods in Louisiana. After all, that was his home state.

"Hey everyone, it's Ian and Nikki. Listen, what happened in Louisiana is a disaster, plain and simple. Clearly, it's very personal to me because that's my home state. Nikki and I have been working very closely with the first lady of Louisiana Mrs. Donna Edwards to restore the normalcy into those schools; bring school supplies, get them rebuilt, get those kids back in class which is very important in the state... we're asking for your help," he said in the video.

"ATTENTION! IF YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO READ THIS JUST CLICK THE LINK IN MY BIO PLEASE!! Hey everyone please participate and do this with us!!!" he captioned the video. As of late, the clip has already earned more than 1.4 million views.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Edwards also expressed her gratitude to Somerhalder and Reed for helping spread the word that Louisiana is in dire help.

On her Twitter account, Edwards wrote, "A huge thanks to @iansomerhalder @NikkiReed_I_Am for helping to raise funds for #laflood survivors! #lagov."

In other news, those who will be sending help to Reed will also be extending help to the animals that were affected by the flood.

"The Louisiana State Animal Response team is doing an amazing job not just rescuing cats and dogs, but also larger animals, which as you can imagine is extremely difficult, and getting supplies and vet care to them," she said in the clip.

Reed added that her husband's foundation have also helped Louisiana State and they have also given their personal donations to the state.

ATTENTION!! IF YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO READ THIS JUST CLICK THE LINK IN MY BIO PLEASE!!! Hey everyone please participate and do this with us!!! There are over 50 thousand people displaced across the state of Louisiana and there are also countless schools that have been damaged AND pets in need of supplies and shelter!! Over the last week we've been working with a wonderful team over at CrowdRise to set up these pages as well as the First Lady of Louisiana Donna Edwards in an effort to bring assistance to the Louisiana School Boards Association (LSBA) to assist flood-damaged schools throughout South Louisiana. The LSBA will help schools provide classroom supplies, school uniforms, technology equipment, structural repairs, clean-up costs and other needed aid. These schools and fur babies of Louisiana need our help!! WE ARE ALSO raising funds for the Louisiana State Animal Response team (a division of Dr. Walter J. Ernst, Jr. Veterinary Memorial Foundation (WJE). They are doing an amazing job coordinating animal rescues in Louisiana by monitoring floodwaters and distributing teams to assist with rescue efforts!! Supplies are important, safety and vet care and shelter is important, food is important and restoring a sense of normalcy is so so important! Please join us!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!! (Also by donating you are entering a chance to win a video chat with us!!!!!!!!!!)
