Niantic Labs has reportedly been developing a "Buddy" system for Pokemon Go that will allow players to do several things. Although details for the upcoming feature is still vague, some are guessing it would allow players to gain help in catching a Pokemon.

According to PC Mag, the feature would appear beside the player's character once it has been pulled up from the in-game profile. Once the "buddy" is out, the player's character will be tossed with some digital candies during Pokemon hunting.

The report added they are also looking into whether this "buddy" would help players catch a Pokemon, assist during gym battle or allow players interact with other players in some way.

In an official announcement, Niantic Labs has expressed they have been busy over summer developing new other features for "Pokemon Go," saying that although they have already introduced a new feature called "Pokemon Appraisal," which let players assess which Pokemon has the most potential for battle, they are still currently working on new features for Pokemon Go Trainers.

The Pokemon Go Development Team added, "Today we wanted to let you know about a new feature for the game that is just around the corner." The succeeding statements confirmed the addition of "Buddy Pokemon" which was described by the development team to open up unique in-game rewards and experiences.

"Buddy Pokémon will appear alongside your Trainer avatar on your profile screen, adding helpful bonuses such as awarding Candy for walking together. You'll also have the ability to change your Buddy Pokémon at any time," the announcement said.

The move may be linked to previous reports stating the game's daily active users has been down from 45 million in July to only 30 million in late August. Some players may just be waiting for Niantic Labs' new feature before they resume playing. Still, the figures speak that "Pokemon Go" is one of the most popular games as of this moment.

Now that Niantic has announced a new feature to watch out for, inactive players may be coming back once "Buddy System" is launched. For other details and updates related to "Pokemon Go," watch the video below.
