It appears that both Hollywood stars have set their sights on a 300-episode run for the CW series. Ackles stated that he found the said number as a good target for the series' potential end. He portrays Dean, one-half of the Winchester brothers' supernatural fighting team. His co-star Padalecki appears to share the same vision.

The "Gilmore Girls" alum commented that the CW show's 300th episode may be the right time for him and Ackles to say goodbye to their "Supernatural" roles. Padalecki plays Sam, a character who has been through a lot of challenges in the past eleven seasons alongside his brother Dean. The series has already shown 241 episodes since it first aired in 2005.

Although Padalecki made mention of the possibility that the series may not meet their targeted 300th episode. He shared that both he and Ackles would be disappointed if the show would not make it to the said episode milestone. The actor also commented that things may still change where the CW series may get extended to more than 300 episodes. "There's a chance that changes, but we certainly do not take it for granted that we're going to make it to 300," he stated.

On the other hand, Ackles teased that the impending end of "Supernatural" may feature a 13-episode series finale. Showrunner Bob Singer added that they have yet to identify a storyline to cap off the series' potential final chapter, as indicated in the same report.

Meanwhile, Adam Rose is set to reprise his Aaron Bass role in an upcoming episode of the show's Season 12, TVLine reported. The actor will play a critical role in Sam and Dean's upcoming battle with Hitler.

"Supernatural" Season 12 will premiere on Thursday, Oct. 13.
