"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 just dropped a new teaser for the show's upcoming premiere episode.

The clip opened with Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) searching for Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Enzo (Michael Malarkey). "The search for Damon and Enzo is almost on and on," Bonnie said.

During their conversation, Stefan encouraged Bonnie to follow every single clue that she will find so they could track Damon and Enzo faster. "You have to follow every single clue because that's what's gonna lead us to them," he said. "I'm in," she replied.

Meanwhile, Stefan will come face-to-face with Damon in the upcoming episodes. However, the former will not necessarily be pleased with the latter who seems to have turned to his dark side a little too much.

The clip showed Damon drowning an innocent man inside a huge manhole filled with water. When Stefan asked what's inside the manhole, Damon refused to tell him the truth.

Caroline (Candice Accola-King) will also be concerned with Damon and Enzo. However, when she tried to reach out to the former, all Damon told her was that she couldn't save him.

In other news, there are some rumors that the newest teaser from The CW was released to project that Damon is in dire need of saving and no one, not even his brother can save him.

Previously, there have been rumors that Nina Dobrev will reprise her role as Elena Gilbert in the final season of "The Vampire Diaries." It therefore makes sense that Elena will return to Mystic Falls to save Damon.

As of late, there is still no confirmation on whether or not Dobrev will actually return in the finale, but executive producer Julie Plec is positive that the actress will say yes.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. ET.
