"Metal Gear Survive" was first introduced at Gamescom 2016 along with its own teaser trailer. Konami confirmed that the game is actually a sequel to "Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes" and will feature a four-player team instead of the series more prominent protagonist, Snake. "Metal Gear Survive" takes place in an alternate dimension were one soldier from Big Boss/Snake's unit survived Skull Face's attack from Mother Base, but ended up being sucked in by a black hole and landing in another world.

Players will encounter zombie like monsters in the area and must fight for survival. Luckily, players will have allies in the form of survivors and must work together to stay alive.

Konomi might be trying a new approach for "Metal Gear Survive" since the series creator Hideo Kojima left the company due to dispute over the development "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain", and gaming fans are not happy about the game at all, thinking that "Metal Gear Survive" has jump shifted from its stealth and espionage genre to that of a survival-horror game.

However, Konami explained that "Metal Gear Survive" will still have stealth based gameplay. Konami USA’s community manager Robert Allan Peer stated many people were upset about "Metal Gear Survive" and urge everyone to keep an open mind about its development, Gamerant reported.

This not the first time Konami received harsh comments and reactions from fans ever since Kojima left the company with an unfinished "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain", not to mentioned the potential Silent Hill sequel, "Silen Hills", which a happens to be Kojima's next project along with "Pacific Rim" director Guillermo del Toro and "The Walking Dead" star Norman Reedus.

Previous reports revealed that Konami announced "Metal Gear Solid: Definitive Experience" with a release date of Oct. 11 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms with a price tag of $50. It will feature all of the 39 DLC including character skins and weapons. The "Definitive Experience" will feature both "Ground Zeroes" and "The Phantom Pain" games, as well as missions such as Déjà Vu and Jamais Vu missions from "Ground Zeroes".

The online multiplayer game mode,"Metal Gear Online" is also included in the "Definitive Experience" along with the "Cloak of Silence " update.

"Metal Gear Survive" will be released on 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
