"Train To Busan" fans are yearning for the film's sequel. Latest reports claimed director Yeon Sang-Ho is to make a sequel to his zombie apocalypse thriller film, which will focus more on the zombies.
"Train To Busan," which starred Gong Yoo, Jung Yu-Mi, and Ma Dong-Seok, follows a group of passengers battling their way through a zombie outbreak, while trapped on a Busan-bound bullet train. The film had its premiere in the Midnight Screenings section at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival.
Talks about the possible sequel started after the "Coffee Prince" actor took to Twitter on Sept. 12, Monday and announced that there could be a sequel to "Train to Busan." While many are glad about the revelation, some fans did not buy it considering that Gong's character, Seok-Woo, died in the latter part of the film.

In a recent interview with local news outlet Sports Chosun, as cited by Soompi, Gong revealed he already expressed his interest to appear in the sequel film. However, director Yeon has stored in some different plans.
"I talked about this with director Yeon Sang-Ho," Gong revealed. "I said that I thought my character Seok-Woo might be living somewhere as a zombie, but director Yeon said that when Seok-Woo fell off the train, he broke his neck and died."
Gong then suggested director Yeon could make a sequel film from Sang Hwa's (Ma) point of view since the character is still living on as a zombie. Hence, it is strongly speculated that the sequel's story will follow a narrative arc from a zombie's perspective.
"Train To Busan" is the first Korean film of 2016 to break the audience record with more than 10 million theatergoers. As of press time, the zombie apocalypse thriller film has grossed $124,345,976 worldwide.
Now, major production houses in the United States and Europe are vying up to bag the remake rights of the smash-hit film. Bidders from Hollywood include 20th Century Fox and Sony Pictures, while interested production houses in France are Canal Plus, Gaumont, and EuropaCrop, Variety reported.
