As the show gears up for "Sleepy Hollow" Season 4, it has been undergoing new formula since Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) left the Season 3 finale. New characters are coming into the new season while Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) will be seen moving from Sleepy Hollow to Washington D.C.

The Season 3 finale, "Ragnarok," saw Mills sacrificing herself by defeating power-hungry god the Hidden One (Peter Mensah) in order to save the humanity. The Witnesses bid their final goodbyes, while she assured him that it is time for new beginnings. Ezra (James McDaniel), Mill's father, talked to Crane that there must be two Witnesses, including the new one who will be coming from Mill's extended bloodline.

As part of the reinvention in "Sleepy Hollow" Season 4, the show's new setting will be in Washington D.C. Crane will be leading a secret organization, founded by George Washington in 1789, to combat the supernatural. The Fox's supernatural drama will introduce Crane's new partner, "True Blood" alum Janina Gavankar, as Diana and the new Witness.

"First and foremost, we need to figure out where that new Witness is, who that new Witness is, and what that iteration of the show will look like,"showrunner Clifton Campbell told Entertainment Weekly in an earlier interview. When asked if the new Witness could be someone from the show, Campbell replied with "No, there is no chance it will be somebody that's already in the show."

Aside from Gavankar, "Sleepy Hollow" Season 4 also adds Oona Yaffe as Molly Thomas, Diana's 10-year-old daughter. Jeremy Davies will be reprising his role as Malcolm Dreyfuss, while Rachel Melvin and Jerry MacKinnon will guest as Alex Norwood and Jake Wells respectively.

As new partners, Crane and Diana will clash because they have different styles in tackling their missions, Deadline reported. Crane is more methodological and systematic, while Diana is task-oriented and always on the move due to her military backgrounds. They will soon find their similarities as they both suffered a loss of their loved ones.

"Sleepy Hollow" Season 4 will air early in 2017. Check out some news about "Sleepy Hollow":
